Matter Anything that has mass and takes up space
Mass The amount of matter in something

Solid A solid is something that is hard and can't be deformed easily

Physical Properties a property that can be observed without changing the identity of the substance.
Chemical Prperties a property that can only be observed by changing the identity of the substance
Atom smallest unit of matter
Atomic Number the number of protons in an atom of an element
Atomic Mass the number of neutrons and protons combined
Nucleus The part of an atom the has all the neutrons and protons
Proton a positively charged particle in the nucleus
Neutral a neutrally charged part of the nucleus
Electron Negatively charged part of the nucleus
malleability ability to be flattened into a sheet; bendable
ductility ability to be stretched into a wire
reactivity ability to react with another substance
period the horizontal rows on a periodic table
groups vertical columns on a periodic table
melting point the point that when a solid turns to a liquid
boiling point the point where a liquid turns to a gas
