Geometric Terms
| Terms | Definition |

| Point | A location in space. |
| Line | A geometric figure mabe up of infinitely many points. |
| Ray | A part of a line that starts at a point, the end point, and continues in one directiopn. |
| Midpoint | The point that divides a line segment into two congruent parts. |
| Bisector | A that intersects a line segement at its midpoint. |
| Perpendicular | Two lines segments, rays, or planes that intersect to form right angles. |
| Transformation | A change made to the size or position of a figure. |
| Translation | Transformation that slides each point of a figure thesame distance in thesame direction. |
| Reflection | A transformation that flips a figure over a line. |
| Rotation | A transformation in which every point moves along a circular path around a fixed point called the center of rotation. |

| quadrilateral | plane shape with four straight lines |
| parallelogram | trapezium (quadrilateral) with opposite sides parallel |
| rectangle | quadrilateral with opposite sides equal & parallel; adjacent sides perpendicular |
| rhombus | equal sizes; opposite sides parallel (quadrilateral) |
| deltoid | quad. with 2 pair of adjacent, equal sides |
| square | rectangle with 4 equal sides |
| rhombi | plural of rhombus |
| trapezoid | American term for trapezium |
