important vocabulary for inequalities

inequality a mathematical statement that says that two expressions are not equal
greater than >
less than <
number line a line along which numbers are placed in order to show relationships between numbers
open circle indicates a less than or greater than inequality symbol when graphing an inequality on a number line
closed circle indicates a less than or equal to or a greater than or equal to inequality symbol when graphing an inequality on a number line
left arrow indicates lesser values on a number line when greaphing an inequality
right arrow indicates greater values on a number line when greaphing an inequality
graph depict an inequality on a number line using an open/closed circle and a right/left arrow
variable a letter that represents a value that changes and a value that could be any number
