Absolute Value A number's distance from zero on a number line
Coefficient The number that multiplies the variable(s) in an algebraic equation
Denominator Part of a fraction that equals the whole
Distributive Property Multiply what is inside the parentheses to each term inside
Equation A mathematical sentence that includes an equal sign
Expression A mathematical phrase that contains variables and does not contain an equal sign
Integers All whole numbers and their opposites including zero
Multiples The numbers that result from multiplying a given whole number by the set of whole numbers
Numerator The part of a fraction that represents a part
Quotient The result of dividing two numbers
Variable Any symbol which could represent a number
Exponent The number of times the base occurs as a factor
