| obtuse angle | an angle that measures greater than a right angle; an angle that has a measure of more than 90 degrees |
| ray | a part of a line that is straight and has one end point and continues without ending in one direction |
| right angle | an angle that forms a square corner and has a measure of 90 degrees |
| line segment | a part of a line that is straight and has 2 end points |
| angle | a figure formed by 2 rays or 2 line segments and has a common endpoint called the vertex |
| perpendicular lines | two lines that intersect to form a right angle |
| parallel lines | lines that never meet |
| intersecting lines | lines that meet or touch or cross |
| straight angle | forms a straight line; measures 180 degrees |

| vertex | point where 2 sides of a polygon meet |

| rhombus | figure with opposite sides parallel and all sides the same length |
| trapezoid | a figure with only 1 pair of parallel sides |
| parallelogram | a figure with 2 pairs of opposite parallel sides |
| rectangle | a figure with 4 right angles and opposite parallel sides |
| square | a figure with 4 right angles and 4 sides that are the same length |
