QuestionAnswer
product the result in multiplication
estimation a number close to the exact amount. Tells about how much or how many
factors One of two or more numbers that are multiplied to give a product
identity The property whcih states that the product of any number and 1 is that number. A x 1 = a
quotient The result in division
associative property Changing the grouping of factors does not change their product. It is aslo called the grouping property of multiplication.
zero property The property which states that the product of any number and 0 and 0
communative property Changing the order of factors does not change their product. It is also called the order property of multiplication.
remainder The number that is left over after one whole number is divided by another
divisible One number is divisible by another if the quotient is a whole number and there is a remainder of 0.
dividend The number that is divided in a division problem.
divisor The nunmber by which a number is being divided.
compatable numbers numbers that are close to the original numbers and are easy to divide.
