heat transfers

QuestionAnswer
what is heat measured in? celsius('c)
heat is a type of..... and this is measured by..... heat is a type of thermal energy and this is measured by joules
the amount of heat energy stored in something depends on? it depends on its temperature, its material, its mass.
heat energy always flows from a hot object to a......? to a cool one
what happen if there is a big difference in temperature? the faster the heat is transferred
what is conductor and conduction? conductor is something that lets energy flow through it. conduction is when the heat travels through the solid
what is an insulator? an insulator traps heat inside, so which means its a bad conductor.
why is feathers a good insulator? this is because the feathers traps the air, so that the air does not move.
explain how heat is heat conducted through a solid object when a solid is heated the particles in it gain energy and vibrate more. the particles in it bump into each other and pass the energy on
when does the conduction happen best and at least best at? conduction happen best at solids because the particles are closer together and it works least best at liquid because the particles are further apart.
