States of Matter

QuestionAnswer
What is a solid? A solid is a state of matter when all the particles a close together but vibrating.
What is a liquid? A liquid is a state of matter when some of the particles are close together. A liquid can flow freely but of constant volume.
What is a gas? A gas is a state of matter when all the particles are not close together and moves in every direction. It also expands freely to fill any space available.
What is a particle? A particle is the smallest part you can split substances into.
What is compress? Compress means to be flatten by pressure.
What is pressure? Pressure is caused by particles hitting the side of a container.
What is diffusion? Diffusion is another scientific synonym for spread out.
