| Compare | to examine the similarites and differences |

| Elaborate | to add information to improve understanding |

| Infer or Conclude | to use the selection and what you know about the world to "read between the lines" |
| Justify | To defend or prove a response |
| Predict | to estimate (guess) future events based upon present and past information |
| Indicates | points out, shows |
| Summarize | to restate the main points in a brief manner |

| evidence | something that serves to illustrate or prove |
| consequence | a result (usually negative) |
| Fact | a statement that can be proven |
