Simile Comparing using like or as.
Metaphor Comparing not using like or as.
Tone The way it sounds. Ex. Upset tone is angry
Mood Feelings
Author’s perspective Point of view of the author.
Hyperbole An exaggeration.
Imagery Words that create a picture in your mind.
Flashback Going back in time.
Primary source Source that comes straight from the source.
Secondary source Somebody else talking about the information.
Bias Showing favoritism. Choosing one over the other.
Comparison Comparing two things. Similarities.
Excerpt A piece of the text.
Infer Take your clues and make a guess.
