What are Cassius' thoughts of the future? He is distubed by the omens, and has some fear of losing the battle. " Their shadows seem a canopy most fatal..."
What does Brutus imply that he will do if he sees that he is losing?" Kill himself rather than be taken back to Rome as a prisoner.
What prompted Brutus to send Mesala with a message back to the troops? He thought he saw Octavius' troops moving in.
What does Pindarus report to Cassius? He mistakingly reports that Titinius was taken by enemy troops.
How does Cassius die? He tells Pindarus to kill him, "With his good sword that ran through Caesar's bowels"
Who had actually surrounded Titinius? Brutus' troops.
What is the meaning of Brutus line "O Julius Caesar, though art might yet!"? Although Caesar is dead- it is beacuse of him the battle is fought and lost.
What action in the scene shows you that Brutus' men respect and protect him? Lucilius says that he is Brutus and is willing to die in his place.
How does the action in Act V Scene V add to the idea shown in Scene IV? DArdanius, Clitus, Strato, and Voluminus stay with Brutus even though it would be better for them to flee.
Of what glory does Brutus speak of in Line 36? That all his men were true to him.
Explain the meaning of Brutus' final speech in Lines 50-51. He is more willing to die than he was to kill Caesar
Explain Antony's final speech- Lines 68- 75 He praises Brutus and says that he is the only conspirator who honestly thought that Caesar's death was the best thing for Rome. That Brutus was an honest Roman and wanted what was best for Rome.
What is the mood of the final scene? There is optimism for Rome's future.
