A list of words that will be used to get ready for the STARR test

QuestionAnswer
Character Motivation To improve your creative writing, allow readers to understand why your characters act as they do.
Dramatic Irony When the words and actions of the characters of a work of literature have a different meaning for the reader than they do for the characters
Bandwagon Appeal The belief that something should be done because the majority of people do it (or wish to do it).
Author's Purpose Reason an author decides to write about a specific topic.
Issue An opinion that is created from people by a certain topic
Excerpt A short extract from a film, broadcast, or piece of music or writing.
