Chemical Bonding

QuestionAnswer
Ionic Bond. A bond that forms between two atoms resulting in oppositely charged ions. On atom gains electrons while another atom loses them. Happens between a metal and a non metal
Covalent Share valence electrons. between 2 non-metals.
Electronegativity Measures an atom's attraction for shared electrons and is a combination of ionization energy and electron affinity.
Bond Length The distance between the nuclei of both atoms. If you have more than 50 percent covalent bonding then you must use the covalent radius
Percent ionic or covalent Take the electronegativity of both elements Subtract them find percent ionic then subtract the ionic percent from 100
