force a push or pull
net force the result of two or more forces acting together on an object
balanced force a force that does not change the motion of an object
unbalanced force a force that changes the motion of an object
acceleration a change in the speed or direction of an object’s motion
newton the metric unit of force
gravity a force that pulls all objects toward each other
weight a measure of the force of gravity upon an object
friction a force that keeps objects that are touching each other from sliding past each other easily
magnetism the force of repulsion (pushing) or attraction (pulling) between poles of magnets
power the amount of work done for each unit of time
