Literary Movements/Types of Writing

| Absurdist | A philosophy based on the belief that the universe is irrational and meaningless and that the search for order brings the individual into conflict with the universe. |
| Absurdist Cont. | Absurdism can also be defined as the belief that the efforts of humanity to find meaning in the universe have ultimately failed because no such meaning exists. |
| Modernism | A self-conscious break with traditional forms and subject matter and a search for a distinctly contemporary mode of expression. |
