Pantomime - n (8) “Lennie made an elaborate pantomime of innocence.” The art of expression without words
Mollified- adj (24) “‘Damn right he don’t,’ said George, slightly mollified.” to soften in feeling or temper
Ominously - adv (27) “‘Well he better watch out for Lennie’... he said ominously.” having the significance of an omen, indicating something bad could happen
Slough - v (27) “‘Don’t tell Curley I said non of this. He’d slough me.’” slang for “he’d kill me” but it really means to cast off as in send out of a group
Bridled -v (31) “...though she did not seem to be looking at Lennie she bridled a little.” To draw up the head and draw in the chin, as in disdain or resentment.
