Novel vocab

QuestionAnswer
Aside In a play, words spoken by a character directly to the audience or to another character, but not overheard by others on stage
Comedy In general, a story ends happily
Dialect Way of speaking that is characteristic of a particular region or group of people
Dialogue A conversation between two or more characters
Drama A story that is written to be acted for an audience
Dramatic Monologue A poem in which a speaker addresses one or more silent listeners, often reflecting on a specific problem or situation
Soliloquy A long speech in which a character who is alone onstage expresses private thoughts or feelings
Tragedy Play, novel or other narrative depicting serious and important events, in which the main character comes to an unhappy end
Tragic Hero Usually wins self-knkowledge, and wisdom, even though he or she suffers defeat, posssibly even death
Tragic Flow A person failing, such as pride, rebellious, or jealousy
Character Individual in a story, poem, or play
