Vocabulary words that can be used to describe tone of voice or mood.

| nostalgic | pleasure and sadness that is caused by remembering something from the past and wishing that you could experience it again |

| apathetic/ indifferent | not having or showing much emotion, interest, or concern |
| brooding/ pensive | serious, upset thoughtfulness |
| cynical | believing that people are generally selfish and dishonest ; selfish and dishonest in a way that shows no concern about treating other people fairly |

| foreboding | a feeling that something bad is going to happen |
| futile | having no result or effect : pointless or useless |
| fatalistic | the belief that what will happen has already been decided and cannot be changed |
