| possible outcome | times that the activity is performed the chance that something will or will not happen |
| sample space | all possible outcomes of an experiment |
| simple event | an event that contains a single outcome |
| theoretical probability | the ratio of the number of equally likely outcome in an event to the outcomes |
| tree diagrams | a branching diagram that shows all possible combination or outcomes of an event |
