Ratio a comparison of 2 numbers by division Represented by- a:b , a/b , or a to b
Proportion 2 ratios set equal
Geometric Mean A/X = X/B
Reciprocal Property If A/B = C/D , then B/A = D/C
Interchanging Means Property If A/B = C/D , then A/C = B/D
Scale Ratio that describes how the dimensions of a model are related to the actual object
Similar Polygons Same shape, congruent angles, proportional sides.
Scale Factor The ratio of 2 corresponding sides in similar figures.
Theorem 6.1: Perimeters of Similar Polygons If 2 polygons are similar, then the ratio of the perimeter = the ratio of the sides.
Corresponding Lengths in Similar Polygons If 2 polygons are similar, then the ratio of the 2 corresponding lengths = the scale factor.
Postulate 22: AA Similarity Postulate If 2 angles of one triangle are congruent to 2 angles of another triangle, then the triangles are similar.
