Vocabulary | Definitions |

addend | one of the numbers being added in an addition problem |
fact family | a set of related addition and subtraction sentences |
inverse operatioins | operations that undo each other |
number | a word that names a quantity of something; a number is shown with a symbol, written words, or concrete models |
even | a whole number that has a 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 in the ones place |
odd | a whole number that has a 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 in the ones place |
digits | any one of the ten symbols 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 used to write numbers |
standard form | a way to write numbers by using the digits 0 - 9, with each digit having a place value |
expanded form | a way to write numbers by showing the value of each digit |
word form | a way to write numbers by using words |
pattern | an ordered set of numbers or objects; the order helps you predicts what will come next |
