Noun Name of a person, place,or thing, activity,idea,animal,quality,virtue,defect,etc.
Pronoun Substitutes for nouns (I , he, she, it, them)
Adjective Words that modify, describe, limit, or quantify nouns. (the GHOSTLY building)
Article A special type of adjective ( the = definite article; a, an= indefinite article
Verb Shows action (kick, offer) feeling ( admire, tolerate) existence ( is, seem) or condition ( consider, believe) Infinitive form contains "to" example : to be, to talk. Adverb
Adverb Just as adjectives modify nouns, adverbs modify verbs, Adverbs can also modify adjectives ( the most common example of this is "very" ) . Many adverbs in in "ly".
Preposition Used to relate nouns or pronouns to other nouns or pronouns, or to verbs that occur in the same sentence. Different relationships are suggested by different prepositions. Example "he walked into the house", "he walked behind the house",
