What is a direct-variation function? A function with a formula of the form y=kx^n, with k not equal to 0 and n>0
What is a inverse-variation function? A function with a formula of the form y=k/x^n, with k not equal to 0 and n>0
How do you find the slope of a line? The slope of a line through two points (x1, y1)and (x2, y2) equals y2-y1 divided by x2-x1
What is the slope of the graph of the direct-variation function y=kx? It has a constant slope of k.
What kind of symmetry do parabolas have, and what is the y-axis called? reflection symmetry, and line of symmetry
If the parabola opens up what is the vertex? What if it opens down? up=minimum, down=maximum
What is an asymptote? A line apptoached by the graph of a function.
