Alliteration the repetition of beginning consonant sounds in words
Hyperbole an exaggeration that something either has much more or much less of a quality than it actually has

Imagery mental pictures that are created with words
Metaphor a comparison of two things WITHOUT using 'like or as'
Onomatopoeia the use of words that sounds like the objects or actions they describe
oxymoron a phrase that combines two seemingly contradictory elements
