Quadratic Functions
Question | Answer |
---|---|
Quadratic Expression | ax^2 + bx + c |
Binomial Square Theorem | (x + y)^2 = x^2 + 2xy + y^2 (x- y)^2 = x^2 - 2xy + y^2 |
Absolute Value-Square root theorem | for all numbers x, square root x^2 = [x] |
Quadratic Formula | x = -b plus or minus, the square root b^2 - 4ac/ 2a |
Imaginary Numbers | a number that is the square root of a negative real number. |
Complex Number | A number that is in the form a + bi where a and b are real numbes and i= the square root of -1. a is called the real part and b is called the imaginary part. |
Discriminate Theorem | two real solutions- b^2 - 4ac > 0 one real solution- b^2 - 4ac = 0 two complex conjugate solutions if b^2 - 4ac < 0 |
