QuestionAnswer
Quadratic equation a^2 + bx + c =0 also known as standard form of a quadratic.
Rational Number A number that can be written in the form a/b, where a and b integers and b cannot equal zero.
Irrational Number A number that is a real number that cannot be written as a simple fraction.
Axis of Symmetry The line with equation x = h is the line of symmetry of a parabola. Basically the x value in the vertex of a parabola.
Newton's Formula h = -1/2gt^2 + vt + h where h = height g = gravity t = time v = initial velocity and the last h = initial height.
Perfect-Square Trinomial The trinomial x^2 + 2hx + h^2 is called a perfect square trinomial.
Quadratic Formula x = negative b plus or minus the square root of b squared minus 2 ac all over 2a.
Imaginary Unit i = the square root of -1. The number i is the imaginary unit.
Complex Number A complex number is a number of the for a + bi.
