Review for Chapter 4: Number Patterns and Fractions

What is a prime number? A number that can only be divided by one and itself.
What is a composite number? A numbers that has 3 or more factors.
What is the Greatest Common Factor (GCF)? The largest number that evenly divides into two numbers.
What is the Greatest Common Factor of 10 and 15? 5
What are the factors of 12? 1,2,3,4,6,12
What is the Least Common Multiple of 12 and 15? 60
What is an improper fraction? A fraction with a numerator greater than its denominator.
What is a mixed number? It has a whole number part and a fraction part.
What is a proper fraction? A fraction whose numerator is less than its denominator.
Is 14/3 a proper fraction or improper fraction? Improper fraction.
Change 14/3 into a mixed number. 4 2/3
Change 5 1/3 into an improper fraction. 16/3
Write 12/24 in simplest form. 1/2
