Matrix Addition If two matrices A and B have the same dimensions, their sum A + B is the matrix in which each element is the sum of the corresponding elements in A and B
Matrix Multiplication If A is an m x n matrix and B is an n x p matrix, then the product A * B is the m x p matrix whose element in row i and column j is the product of row i of A and column j of B
Scalar Multiplication The product of a scalar k and a matrix A is the matrix kA in which each element is k times the corresponding element in A.
Transformation A transformation is a one-to-one correspondence between the points of a preimage and the points of an image.
Identity transformation The transformation that maps each point (x,y) onto itself
Matrix Dimensions In general a matrix with m rows and n columns has dimensions m x n
Point Matrix |x| |y| This is a 2 x 1 matrix called a point matrix. The first row is the x coordinate and the y is the second.
