What is an acronym? An acronym is an abbreviation which is made up of the initial letters of a group of words.
What is an adjective? An adjective is a word that describes somebody or something.
What is an adverb? adverbs give meaning to a verb, adjective, another adverb or a whole sentence.
What is a compound word? a word made up of two other words i.e. football.
What is a digraph? two letters representing one phoneme.
What is a homograph? words which have the same spelling but different meanings.
What is a homophone? words which have the same sound as another but different meaning or different spelling.
What is a noun? a noun is a word which denotes somebody or something.
What is a phoneme? the smallest unit of sound in a word.
What is a prefix? A prefix is a fixed morpheme which can be added to the beginning of a word to change it's meaning.
