mapping notation Mapping notation states that both the name of the functions. EX)B:x->x+x^2/20 reads b maps on to x onto x+x^2/20.
function is a relation in which no 2 different ordered pairs have the same first coordinate.
Distributive property for all real numbers a,b and c. EX) equation:c(a+b)=ca+cd
Term Each number in the sequence is called a term. EX)the first term (of the sequence) is 1; the 2nd term is 3; the 3rd term is 6; the 4th term is 10; the 5th term is 15.
Subscripted Subscript is written below and to the right of a variable. EX)"T sub 10 equals 55" the number 10 is the subscript.
Recursive formula or recursive definition is a sequence of a set of statements that indicates the first term and indicate the nth term is related to one or more of the previos terms. EX)40,20,10,5,2.5 first term =40 new term =previous term divided by 2 for all terms after the first.
