QuestionAnswer
fraction a symbol such as 2/3, 5/1, or 8/5 used to name a port of a whole, a part of a set, a location on a number line, or a division of whole numbers.
numerator the number above the fraction bar in a fraction
denominatior the number below the fraction bar in a fraction
mixed number a number that has a whole number part and a fractional part
improper fraction a fraction whose number is greater than or equal to its denominatior
equivalent fraction fractions that name the same part of whole regions, length, or set.
factor numbers that are multiplied to get a product
greatest commmon factor the greatest number that is a factor of two or more numbers
simplest form a fraction in which the greatest common factor of the numerator and denominator is one.
