How does Chlorine break down ozone? | It steals one of the oxygen atoms, creating Chlorine Monoxide (CIO) and Oxygen (O2). The Chlorine Monxoide molecule then attacks another ozone molecule. Creating a chain reation that leaves only the single Chlorine atom. |
How much damage can the Chlorine atom do to ozone molecules? | The Chlorine atom can destroy as many as 100,000 ozone molecules. |
