aphorism saying that can be attributed to someone
anaphora repetition of a word, phrase, or sound in the beginning of successived phrases, verses, or clauses
rhetoric writing that explains something
onomatopeia words that sound like their meaning
exposition writing that explains something
paradox a contradictory statement that may actually be true
oxymoron a contradictory statement expressed in 2 contradictory statements
circumlocution saying many words when not needed, deliberatly vauge
imperative sentence a sentence that gives a direct command
periodic sentence a sentence that is not grammatically correct until the end (main clause at the end)
