| anaphora | repetition of a word, phrase, or sound in the beginning of successived phrases, verses, or clauses |
| rhetoric | writing that explains something |
| onomatopeia | words that sound like their meaning |
| exposition | writing that explains something |
| paradox | a contradictory statement that may actually be true |
| oxymoron | a contradictory statement expressed in 2 contradictory statements |
| circumlocution | saying many words when not needed, deliberatly vauge |
| imperative sentence | a sentence that gives a direct command |
| periodic sentence | a sentence that is not grammatically correct until the end (main clause at the end) |
