QuestionAnswer
Poem An arrangement of words, a rhythmical composition, sometimes rhymed, in a language more imaginative than ordinary speech.
Poet One who expresses himself with beauty of thought and language more imaginative than ordinary speech
Alliteration The repetition of initial or first consonant sounds.
Repetition It is the repeating of a key word, phrase, or line of a poem in order to emphasize its importance to the reader.
Onomatopoeia It is also called imitative harmony. It is the use of words that in themselves sound like what they are describing.
Metaphor It is the comparison between two unlike things which have one likeness in common. It is a comparison that is suggested or implied rather than stated.
Simile It is the comparison of two unlike things using the words like, as or than.
