unit rate a rate with a denominator of one
dilation a transformation that results from the reduction or enlargement of an image
dimensions the measurements of a figure's edges (length, width, height)
indirect measurement a technique using proportions to find a measurement
prime notation used to distinguish between the original figure and the new figure
rate a ratio that compares two numbers with different kinds of units (for example gallons: hour, price: item)
proportional a relationship in which two quantities have equivalent ratios in a table and when graphed passes through the origin
proportion an equation that shows that two ratios are equivalent
percent a ratio that compares a number to 100
circumference the distance around a circle or it's perimeter
area the number of square units covering a surface of a figure
perimeter the distance around a geometric figure or the sum of all it's sides
scale factor the ratio of the lengths of two corresponding sides of similar polygons
