Birdshot Chorioretinitis (Vitiliginous choroiditis) - who, symptoms, test healthy WOMEN > 50 yo; complains of floaters, VA loss (esp. central), HLA-A29 (90%)
Bird-shot - clinically 100% VITRITIS, multi-focal ill-defined oval yellow lesions. chronic and slowly progressive. may have ONH or macular edema
Masquerade Syndromes of Post Uveitis RD, IOFB, pigment dispersion syndrome
RD Syndromes LEUKEMIA, metastatic tumors
RD PRs seperate from RPE. cells floating in vit are RPE cells (black), RBCs (red), WBCs (white)
Shaffer's Sign (aka Tobacco Dust) RPE cells in post vit
Most metastases found in choroid are from... lung & breast
Ocular signs of metastases yellowish orange dome-shaped lesion often in post pole (can be in CB, iris); one or multi-focal; bilat (30%)
#1 cause of death in males lung cancer

Leukemic Retinopathy infiltrates, WBCs, (push platelets, RBCs away) give C&F; hemorrhages are LARGE & BLOTCHY (unlike in DR)

ACN (acute retinal necrosis - systemic association? herpes zoster; [bilateral = BARN]
ARN - demographics young men, immunosuppressed; herpes infection
ARN - signs, symptoms vitritis, retinal vasculitis, sheating, arteritis, phlebitis
PORN (progressive outer retinal necrosis) outer ret - probably won't give vitiris
ARN v CMV ARN = midper; CMV - post pole
#1 cause of post. uveitis toxoplasmosis
toxo - signs remains dormant in body; chorioretinal scars, post. uveitis
neuroretinitis - ocular findings inflam of ONH, retina; may have vitiris; possibly RAPD; serous RD extending to fovea; macular star of hard exudates; ONH edema; multifocal retinitis; VF (ceco)central scotoma
neuroretinitis - causes cat scratch disese; syphilis; TB; lyme; toxo
Ocular Histo - signs Vitreal cells OFTEN ABSENT (when around macula; not when around periphery), acute LOV; multifocal small round white lesions at $PE
Ocular Histo - triad peripap atrophy; peripheral white punched out spots, CNV in macula
Parasitic diseases & post uveitis DUSN, toxocara canis
DUSN (diffuse unilateral subacute neuroretintis) small, white worm-like area in retina that moves around;
