QuestionAnswer
decimal A symbol that uses a base-ten-place value system with multiples of tenths to represent a number.
discount An amount deducted from the usual price.
percent A fraction or ratio in which the denominator is 100. An easy way to compare data because they have a common denominator of 100.
Rate A price or charge with reference to a standard or scale. A comparision of two quantities with different units of measure.
Ratio A comparision of two quantitites that have the same unit of measure.
Rational number A number that can be written as a/b where a and b are integers, but b is not equal to 0.
Sales Tax A tax levied by a state or city on the price of an item that is collected by a store.
