Fraction Operations

QuestionAnswer
A fraction in which the numerator is larger than the denominator. It is a fraction that is greater than 1. Improper Fraction
A number that is written with both a whole number and a fraction. It is the sum of the whole number and the fraction. Mixed Number
The bottom number in a fraction. Denominator
The top number in a fraction. Numerator
Fractions that are equal in value, but may have different numerators and denominators. Equivalent Fractions
An equation showing that two ratios are equivalent. Proportion
Two numbers that have a product of 1. Reciprocal
A ratio comparing two different units using the word per Rate
The answer to a division problem. Quotient
The answer to an addition problem. Sum
The answer to a muliplication problem. Product
The answer to a subtraction problem. Difference
