Vocabulary for Proportionality: Rates and Percents

| proportional | a relationship in which two quantities have equivalent ratios in a table and when graphed passes through the origin. |
| rate | a ratio that compares two numbers with different kinds of units (for example, gallons:hour, price:item, meters:second). |
| unit rate | a rate with a denominator of one. |
