First Person Point of View The Narrator is a character is the story. Uses I, me and we
Third Person Point of View The Narrator is not a character in the story. Uses words like he, she and they to refer to characters
Characterization The way a write creates and develops characters. 4 types: Physical appearance, thoughts and actions, other characters, narrator's comments
Character People, animals and creatures who take part in the action of the work of literature.
Symbol A person, place,an object, or an activity that stands for something beyond itself.
Context Clues Words or phrases surrounding the word that provides hint about the word's meaning.
