| freezing point | temperature at which a liquid freezes into a solid |
| freezing point of water | 0 degrees Celsius |
| boiling point | temperature at which a liquid turns to a gas |
| condensation | process of gas changing to a liquid |
| evaporation | when molecules from the surface of a liquid turn to gas - need not be boiling |
| sublimation | process of a solid directly becoming a gas |
| deposition | a gas becomes a solid without becoming a liquid first |
| freezing | exothermic change |
| melting | endothermic change |
| boiling | endothermic change |
| condensing | exothermic change |
