lyric poem a type of poetry that expresses personal emotions or thoughts by using musical verse
metaphor figure of speech (my dad is a bear in the morning - he is not really a bear but is being compared to a bear or equal to a bear - meaning he is growly early in the morning)
myth a fictional story based on actions of heroes or gods
narrative poem a type of poetry that tells a story
nonfiction prose writing that is a fact (true)
onomatopoeia word (s) that suggest the sound of what is being described (buzzzzz - describing a bee; yapping - barking, irritating dog)
metamorphosis changing in form or shape
motivation causes a character to behave in a certain way
narration type of writing; used in various genres; tells stories from different points of view
novel book of fiction that tells a story
opinion what one personally believes
