What is the setting? Where the story takes place
What are the 3 main components that make up setting and give an example 1. Time- the present 2.Location- School 3. Environment-hot and sticky
Where in the story will you find the setting? Anywhere-beggining, middle or end
Why is the setting vital to the forming of the plot? It establishes the location
What 5 things does the author reveal about a character? 1. Physical Description 2. Speech 3. Actions 4.Inner Thoughts 5. Attitudes and reactions of other characters
What are traits? What are motives? The more permanent qualities in their personalities The reasons they act the way they do
Realistic/Round charcter Dynamic character Flat/Static character Stock character is realistic or believable undergoes a change does not change is a stereotyped character
direct characterization indirect characterization tells the audience what the personality of the character is shows things that reveal the personality of a character
