DCAPES

QuestionAnswer
COURSE OF ACTION (COA) A sequence activities that an individual or unit may follow. A COA is a product of JOPES concept development phase.
Supported Command Reviews and validates filler and replacement requirements from operational PERSCO.
Time phased force and deployment Data(TPFDD) The JOPES database portion of an OPLAN.
Joint operation planning and execution system (JOPES) A computer system designed to allow planners from all services and agencies to develop and execute operational plans as well as monitor, plan and execute mobilization, deployment, employment and sustainment activities associated with joint operations.
Operation Plan (OPLAN) A plan for conduct of military operations. Identifies the forces and supplies required to execute the Command in Chief strategic concept and movement schedule of these resources to the theater of Operations.
Unit Type Code (UTC) A five- Character, code that uniquely identifies each type of unit(force package) of Armed Forces.
Unit Line number (ULN) Unique identification number that uniquely describes a unit entry line in JOPES.
Supporting Command Responsible for establishing accountability by tracking and managing mini-records.
Unit identification Code (UIC) A six character alpha numeric identifier of a unit
Fragmentation Code (FRAG) A one character code, the second of three parts of a ULN. used to identify subordinate units.
Deliberate Crisis Action Planning and Execution Segment (DCAPES) The AF Standard automated data processing subsystem of the JOPES. Which is used my Manpower, Personnel, Logistics, and operations.
Global Command and Control System (GCCS) A DOD System providing the planning community the ability to share the workload among computer center and rapidly query programs.
Installation Deployment Officer (IDO) Acts of the installation commander in the overall.
Manpower office (MO) Is responsible for validating all tasking
Installation Personnel Readiness (IPR) FSS office that functions as base level office of primary responsibility for all personnel Deployment/contingency exercise or rotational matters.
Unit Deployment Manager (UDM) Unit representative who is responsible for the unit deployment program.
LOGMOD Automates the development of and distribution of UTC Packages. Stand along system.
SORTS A Reporting system used to measure the readiness of a combat or combat support unit.
ART Chief staff of the AF directed system at the AEFC that was develop to measure AEF readiness. AF Only uses this system.
LIMFAC A factor or condition that either temporarily or permanently impedes mission accomplishments
Shortfall The lack of forces, equipment, personnel, material, or capability, reflected as difference between the resources.
C-Day The unnamed day on which a deployment operation commences or is to commence.
D-Day The unnamed day on which a operation Commence.
MEFPAK A Data system designed to support contingency and general war planning.
What are the two subsystem of MEFPAK? MANFOR & LOGFOR
Central Site The main PERSCO location within an AOR.
Operation Order A directive issued by a commander to subordinate commanders the purpose of effecting the coordinated execution of an operation.
MAJCOM Verifies tasking utilizing AFVC which sets code to D. Wing level Visibility.
IDO Receives and verifies tasking set tasking status code M ready for MO Validation
MO Receives and validates tasking and set tasking status to P
IPR Manually updates tasked SSN or imports the LOGMOD Chahlk file to DCAPES. the Status code is update to C.
Directorate of Operation and training Responsible for overall Readiness and training, contributing to a force that is trained and ready to deploy
Directorate of Plans and Integration OPR for AF deployment and redeployment operations. Also, develops policy guidance to support AF deployment objectives.
Component Commands Responsible to identify theater pre-positioned war reserve material to supporting MAJCOMS
Functional Area Manager (FAM) Provides expert guidance for UTC tasking of the AFSC's they Manage.
War Planners Responsible for supporting, developing, and managing planning and execution requirements to support all possible wartime contingencies.
