5. counterbalance (n) a weight use to balance another weight; (v) to balance or offset When sitting on a teeter totter, it's good to have someone about the same weight to counterbalance you.
6. counterproductive (adj) producing the opposite of what is desired or intended Her actions were completely counterproductive; in fact, they made the task more difficult.
7. oblique (adj) not straight; slanting, inclined, or sloping Draw an oblique line through the square to make two triangles.
8.obnoxious (adj) very unpleasant and objectionable The rotting fruit gave off an obnoxious smell.
9.obscure (v) to make unclear; to conceal or make less obvious He tried to obscure his footsteps by brushing a tree branch over the trail.
