Who does the Health and Safety at Work Act protect? Almost everyone involved in working situations. It states the responsibilities of the employer and the employee. All the other acts come from this one.
What are your responsibilities? To ensure your own safety and that of others and to co-operate with your employer on health and safety issues.
What is COSHH? The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations
What does SHUD stand for? Storage, handling, using and disposal of products
What is PPE? Personal Protective Equipment
How many types of fire extinguishers are there? 4
What would you use the Water/Red fire extinguisher on? Paper, wood and hair fires
What would you use the Foam/Yellow fire extinguisher on? Liquid fires or small paper, wood and hair fires
What is RIDDOR? Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations
Which fire extinguisher would you use on an electrical fire? Carbon Monoxide Black
