QuestionAnswer
prompt This is what you are being asked to write about. It may be either a sentence or a question.
thesis This is the first sentence in your paragraph. It is the main topic sentence. It restates the prompt as a statement and never a question.
body This is the middle of your paragraph. It is where you will discuss or explain your answer. There are at least 3 Body sentences in a Short Response Answer.
concluding sentence This is the very last sentences in your answer. It restates and not just recopies your thesis sentence.
contractions This is where two words are combined, leaving a letter out and replacing the missing letter with an apostrophe ( ' ). Examples: "Can't, Don't, I'm"
slang These are words which come into popularity and go out of popularity. They are specific to a certain time period. Examples: "Totally rad", "Gnarly", "Shawty", "Epic fail".
casual english These are similiar to slang, but they are informal variations of words that stick around for longer periods of time. Examples: "Mom, Dad, kids".
formal english This is an elevated way of speaking. You may not use contractions, slang or casual language.
standard english This is the Formal English used in business and educational settings. It follows all the accepted rules for grammer, puncutation, spelling.
