NumberDescription
Irrational Numbers Numbers which can be written in the form p/q. Their decimal name is nonterminating or nonrepeating. Ex. 6/7, 7/13, 5/17
Rational Numbers Numbers that can be witten in the form p/q. Their decimal name either terminates or repeats. Ex. 1/4, .625, 2/3, 5/6
Integers Whole numbers and their opposites. J = {. . . -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, . . .}
Whole Numbers Natural numbers plus 0. W = {0, 1, 2, 3, . . .}
Natural numbers Counting numbers N = {1, 2, 3, 4 . . .}
