What is the Patient teaching for Colace(docusate)? only use for SHORT period of time,Long period of use can cause elctrolyte imbalance & depency. Increase fluid intake(6-8 glasses). Increase mobility, client with CARDIAC disease,avoid straining during bowel movments. DOn't USE,pain in stomach,nausea.
What is the Classification of Colace(docusate)? Therapeutic laxatives.
What are the Side effects of Colace(docusate)? Causes throat irritation, mild cramps,and rashes.
What is the Patient teaching for Heparin? Report unusual bleeding. Don't take Asprin or NSAID's Avoid IM injections,sports. Use soft toothbrush, elctric razor. ALWAYS HAVE a I.D.Band(heparin).
What is the Classification of Heparin? Theapeutic: Anticoagulants
What is the Side Effects of Heparin? BLEEDING. Anemia. Thrombocytopenia(decrease in platlets resulting in abnormal(excessive) bleeding.
What is the Lab Considerations of Heparin? Check APTT(range 30-40) and Hematocrit. Monitor Platelet count q 2-3 days.
What is the Patient teaching for Digoxin? Check Aprical Pulse. Check K+ levels. Take missed dosage within 12hrs of scheduled dose. Check Pulse(60-100)for normal ranges,any changes is signs of Digoxin toxicity(infant&childre).
What is the Classification of Digoxin? Therapeutic: Antiarrhythmics,intropics.
What is the Side Effects of Digoxin? Confusion,drowsiness. Blurred vision.
What is the Patient teaching for Nitroglycerin? Should be kept in ORIGINAL glass container,speacial made metal containers. Has to REMOVE Cotton tip when getting pills. Losses POTENCY in plastic/cardboard containor. Keep out of heat,air,and moisture(loss of potency). Replace after 6 months.
What is patient teacing for nitroglycerin? Can cause VASODIALATION. Keep away from body, Don't hold in bare Hands because may absorb into skin. Keep in cool/dark place.
What is Classification of Nitroglycerin? Therapeutic: antianginals
What are the Side Effects of Ntroglycerin? Increases Cornary Blood flow. Produces Vasodilation. Relief of anginal attacks. Increase cardiac output, and Reduces blood pressure.
Pharmacokinetics: Absorption. Distribution. Metabolism. Excretion.
Nitroglycerin Dosage(adult)? 0.3-0.6mg,repeat q5 minutes 2 times
Digoxin lab values? Therapeutic serum digoxin levels: 0.5-2ng/mL(drawn q 6-8hrs)
What is the Antidote of Heprin? pertainumine sulfate
Aspirin Reduces your clotting time(Anti-platlet). Monitor for onset tinnitus,headache,hyperventilation,mental confusion.
Enteric-coated tablets? CANNOT CRUSH OR CHEW!!!
Warfarin(coumadin)? Requires atleast 3-5days before it takes affect. Patient should have a limited amount of K+ foods,vitamines.
the antidote for Warfarin(coumadin)? Vitamine K+
What is the Normal Therapeutic ranges PT for Warfarin? 1.3-1.5 or2.0(desired outcome)
What is the Normal ranges for INR in Warfarin? 0.8-1.2. If patient is high risk of embolization(2.3-3.5)
