Anticipate v. 1 : to foresee and deal with or provide for beforehand 2 : to expect especially with pleasure Selena is anticipating for Christmas to happen.
Assonance n. the repetition of vowel sounds but not consonants in words for poetic effect Stella's poem has a stanza that contains certain words using assonance.
Beneficial adj. producing results that are good for health and happiness Milk is beneficial to helping Stacey's health
Chronological adj. arranged in or according to the order of time My language arts teacher told me to do my life in chronological order.
Compare v. 1 : to describe as similar 2 : to look in order to find out likenesses or differences 3 : to be worthy of comparison 3b : to appear in comparison to others 4 : to inflect or modify (an adjective or adverb) I compared Hawaiian Punch from Kool-aid.
Connotation n. a meaning suggested by a word or an expression in addition to its exact meaning My friend said " I love to swim!", but, I said " You favor to swim!" We both were using connotation.
Consonance n. harmony or agreement especially of musical tones or speech sounds Dora said "Baa. Baa." Because she was acting like a sheep. So she was doing consonance.
Context n. the parts of something written or spoken that are near a certain word or group of words and that help to explain its meaning Conny was looking at the context and realized that the main character was living in Asia.
Contrast v. 1 :to show noticeable differences 2 : to compare two persons or things so as to show the differences between them Cameron was contrasting a Prius to a Focus.
